The North Koel River flows alongside the rest house, providing a constant, living backdrop of forest sounds, birdlife, and occasional wildlife movement at the water's edge. The Aksi River — a named stream in the Palamau Tiger Reserve's hydrology — joins the North Koel near Kujrum village. The area around Aksi gives access to Mahuadanr Wolf Sanctuary — India's only wolf sanctuary — which lies nearby. There are no shops, restaurants, or phone networks at Aksi. Provisions must be collected from Mahuadanr town before arrival. The caretaker can cook using provisions you bring.
