Latehar district's forest landscape produces numerous seasonal waterfalls as the plateau streams drop toward the valley systems draining south and west. Tuuri Falls is among the closest of these to Latehar town — a practical advantage that makes it the default first-day waterfall visit for travellers based in the district town who are building their Latehar forest circuit. The falls form on a forest stream that flows through dense sal and bamboo before plunging over a rocky ledge. The drop varies between 10–20 metres depending on season, with October–November producing the highest flow. The surrounding forest is intact and the approach path — about 20 minutes on foot from the road — passes through the kind of quiet, dense sal forest that characterises the Latehar plateau interior. The pool below the falls provides a natural bathing spot accessible from December onwards as the stream level drops enough to make the pool safe. The forest around the falls is quiet and productive for birding — the standard mixed sal forest community of drongos, babblers, woodpeckers, and barbets active through the cooler months. Tuuri's advantage over the grander falls of the Latehar–Palamu region (Lodh Falls, Panchghagh) is accessibility — a shorter drive and a modest walk rather than the extended journey required for the major falls. It works as a quick wilderness introduction on a first morning in Latehar before longer drives to more dramatic destinations.
